Told to me by the first administrator I had who was data-crazy, and she was mostly correct, with one tweak:
What gets affirmed… gets encouraged
You want more high-fives? Start giving high-fives.
You want students talking? Thank them for sharing every time.
You want more respectful students? Treat students respectfully and insist they do it, too.
You want staff and students to take risks? Take risks, and do it publicly.
